Patron
Services of the Earle A. Rainwater Memorial Library
All library cards are free but
there is a $5.00 replacement fee. You must have a valid
driver's license present with you. Children under 16 must
have a parent sign the card application.
New patrons are allowed to
check out one book during their first visit. After the
book is returned, an adult may check out as many books as they
would like but not more than twenty. This rule
applies as long as the shelves are not depleted of an entire
subject. Children are limited to four items after
the first visit.
All books, videos, audios,
etc are checked out for two weeks unless patron is told
otherwise. Checked out items may be renewed over the phone
for additional two weeks.
Patrons have a three day
grace period before fines start to accumulate on their library
card. Overdue fines are $ .10 per
day. The fine must be paid before more materials can be
checked out. Patrons will be contacted if they have overdue items
in the following manner:
- Phone call or
message
- Post card
- Overdue letter
- Police letter
- Print name in
local newspaper
- Name will be
turned over to the Childersburg Police Department for
collection.
Copies are
$.25 per page.
Faxes are
$1.00 per page to send and $.50 to receive
INTERNET USAGE
All
patrons with library cards are allowed to use computers.
Everything printed will be $.25 per page. All
copies printed at the computers are to be paid for - no
matter if only one line is on the sheet of paper.
Patrons under the age of 16, must be supervised by an adult.
Persons using the computers are not allowed to leave their
children in the children's room. This is not a place
for the to play.
Internet
use will be managed in a manner consistent with the Library's
Code of Conduct. The following actions will not be allowed:

Sending or displaying obscene (as defined by AL Code
13A-12-200.1) or disruptive messages, files, or images

Changing files or images
-
Changing or adding files to the network
-
Harassing, insulting others, or attacking others

Violations of copyright laws or software license
restrictions
Library
staff will take appropriate action, as they become aware of
violations. Violations of these rules may result in loss of
access as well as appropriate legal action. |
