Patron Services of the Earle A. Rainwater Memorial Library

All library cards are free but there is a $5.00 replacement fee.  You must have a valid driver's license present with you.  Children under 16 must have a parent sign the card application.

New patrons are allowed to check out one book during their first visit.  After the book is returned, an adult may check out as many books as they would like but not more than twenty.  This rule applies as long as the shelves are not depleted of an entire subject.  Children are limited to four items after the first visit.

All books, videos, audios, etc are checked out for two weeks unless patron is told otherwise.  Checked out items may be renewed over the phone for additional two weeks.

Patrons have a three day grace period before fines start to accumulate on their library card.  Overdue fines are $ .10 per day.  The fine must be paid before more materials can be checked out.  Patrons will be contacted if they have overdue items in the following manner:

  1. Phone call or message
  2. Post card
  3. Overdue letter
  4. Police letter
  5. Print name in local newspaper
  6. Name will be turned over to the Childersburg Police Department for collection.
